I agree. Not trying to be an edgelord, because FMA had really gut-wrenching moments for me, but the episode with Nina (is that the girl's name?) honestly felt so fucking cheesy and hamfisted to me. Little anime girls are always the worst, so forced cute with adult women voicing them, there isn't anything genuine about them. I really did not give a shit that she died.

Honestly, the episode with Alphonse and the kittens was way more emotional to me. lol

I think it's not just that this awful thing happens to this sweet kid, but that it's done by her father who she trusts and loves, who she still loves afterward, because she can't even properly understand the betrayal. That combined with the uncanny valley effect.
