Well damn... Shit hit the fan pretty quick there, I think I might have whiplash;;
I can only imagine what might have happened if they said 'baby talk' instead of dog... honestly though, I'd just guess someone said scapegoat, and everyone decided to jump on board.

What you said, really, was fine, be it if you're a guy, or a girl, imo. I imagine though, that some of the people took it almost as if you said the 'n' word by comparison. (if that makes any sense at all;;) Be it personal or not, be it you meant it in offense or not, (and obviously you didn't) your comment just seemed to trigger certain people... (and this is just my stupid guess of course;;)

Really though, in no way should someone say something like that. (@image) I'm actually sorry people feel the need to act like absolute dicks at the drop of a hat... You don't deserve that, truly.

See I think I get what you (and them) are saying lesbian things are not for men to be involved in, and there is a perception that a man has no right showing approval or especially disapproval about a lesbians lifestyle. I think this is what they're saying.

But I think that's kinda bullshit. Talking about shared experiences of fandom is literally what this place is for- In this case a deep and abiding desire to bone down with Angelina Jolie's Lara Croft. If it had been a man making this secret I would have been just as willing to congratulate him on his taste, and I think it's obvious by my continued... demeanor that I would be no more formal or observant of social protocol with a man that i would be with a woman.

The idea that I shouldn't use a ridiculous speech pattern or style because she's a woman, when I would - have, even, used such methods to make my self seem more interesting or unique when talking to men... That I do not hold with. I treat women as I treat men.

The idea up thread seems to be presented that i shouldn't have refereed to her as a lesbian, but honestly I feel that's just reaching. I knew she was a lesbian, so I refereed to her as such. I think people are having a gut reaction, either to me personally, or to a man talking to a lesbian without due deference, or what ever, and all the explanations just seem more and more like they're trying to reach for facts to fit their emotional reaction of being against what i said.

That, and I have a dedicated fan, who gods bless the little bastard (Little bastard used in an affectionate way, just FYI), is really putting in the work.

Anyway that's my rough read on it, and since I don't feel I've done anything wrong here, and I'm still not seeing anything compelling to make me change my mind, I think I'm gonna continue to stand by my comment of yesterday.


for the record, I am actually not so upset about the stuff in that image. Dude doesn't like me, I can live with this. Dude seems somewhat irrational, That's not my business, and honestly I don't really mind the whole "Suicide encouragement" stuff when it's aimed at me. I'm in charge of my own shit. when the black dog is at my heals, that's still my business, and something i should let randos online dictate. So I don't really want people going to Case to get this stuff (when it is directed at me) removed. Some of it can be genuinly quite funny. Someone the other day told me to "Neck Myself" How is that not just a brilliant phrase?

And honestly if I ever come here, someone tells me to kill myself, and I end up doing it, which is not impossible, I would like it to be known that the person who told me to do it is ABSOLUTELY not responsible. Honestly the depression is what would get me. Random commenters on F!S would be less responsible for my suicide that whatever sad manga I read before i did it.
