More miserable? She spends a lot of time worrying about her son, but she has reason to worry considering some of the shit he puts himself through. Other than that, she seems pretty well-adjusted.

I think it's rude to call it a "downgrade" when it's just... Inko getting older. When people get older their metabolisms slow down, and she's running around all the time looking after her son whilst her husband's away. She's going to put on weight. That's not a "downgrade" that's just something that happens. She's still very cute and happy and a great mom even if she's not in her 20s any more.
