Or one of the 20 times last year where a film's producers told us that the characters in a film were totally queer but ~~~unfortunately~~~ the scene that confirmed it ended up on the cutting room floor?

(or never actually existed outside of 1 radio interview, in the case of Lando being pan)

I'm sorry China hates gays.

Even if you accept the logic that China hates gays and therefore there can be no gays in blockbuster movies: don't piss on our leg and tell us it's raining

Well they still aren't lying, they're just not divulging the exact reason for the scene being cut. Because, I assume, smart people can figure it out.

My issue isn't that they're being untruthful, so much as that they're trying to get the representation cookies without the representation. It doesn't do anyone any good to hear that Lando is pan, or whatever. You don't get points for having it in the script and then cutting it from the movie.

Venom was very popular in China, I hear.

If Lofter is any indication, the Chinese public seems to love their slash ships. Especially incestuous ones.

But the damn Chinese government has to ruin everything.
