If that's how your bras fit then you can't just buy them from any size range. My boobs are super wide-set too and I always had trouble with underwire digging into my side breast tissue. Then I got properly fitted and found the bras I was buying were two cup sizes too small. Some adjustments with the band size and now every bra I buy fits perfectly and comfortably.

The other consideration is the shape of your boobs. Bras come in different shapes as well as sizes because boobs aren't all the same shape. I have bottom-heavy boobs (most of the breast tissue is below the nipple) so I need a balconette shaped bra. Finding the right shape bra will help almost as much in reducing the gape of the cups as finding the right cup size.
