Every person I've seen hate on Lenalee never has good reasons for hating on her. Usually they just say something like "idk lol" Maybe Gary Stu was too harsh, but the recent relevations made me think of that. Allen's saviour attitude pisses me off too, sometimes. Lena had such a traumatising story (like all the others) how the heck can they say she's underdeveloped/doesn't have any flaws. You just can't please some people. Kanda's actually the least developed but he's worshiped by the fandom. :I

But I think that, from what I've gathered, it's mostly because she's tried to construct a facade about her to deal with her early traumas. I think it's the same way with Allen and his 'gentlemanly' front.
Both Allen and Lenalee have dealt with a lot of horrible stuff in their pasts, so I'm inclined to think that they've both tried to re-create their own personas to cope. Which, unfortunately, makes them both kind of hard to understand...but Lenalee, especially, since the series actually focuses on Allen. We get only a slightly better idea of how he's dealing with things because of that.
