Hmm, do you have a curl pattern? You can have several different textures on your head; for example, my hair is mostly type 3c, with some 3b and just a little 3a, and my hair is very fine, there's just a lot of it.

Is your hair thick and fine or thin and fine? It might be helpful to find a stylist who specializes in curly hair, or requesting it be cut dry rather than wet. The main problem is that many (white/caucasian) stylists don't know how to cut textured hair. They want to treat it the same way straight hair is treated, and you can't really do that because it's a different hair type that requires different treatment (like cutting it dry).

If it's causing this much anxiety, I highly recommend finding a stylist who specializes in textured hair. Google "hair stylists specializing in curly hair" for your area and see what comes up. Ouidad and DevaCurl are two different curl/texture systems that are used in many salons, they might be a useful search for you as well.

I feel you on this tho. I'm a stylist who went to school just so I could learn how to take care of my own hair! Good luck, bb.

Not OP but I have very fine hair but a lot of it (my stylist always does a o__o face when he sees what's on the floor after he's cut it, lol). But it's also curly unless I keep it short and ain't nobody got time for styling curly hair. At least, nobody as lazy as me. >_>
