What I shared was literally internet mob justice causing someone's death.

How would you feel if a group of people started harassing and making up lies about you? If every time a potential employer google searched your name, the first things that came up were, "So and So is racist! So and so is a rapist! So and so hates __________." Then you lost a job opportunity.

That is what internet mob justice does. It ruins lives.

OK, but on the other hand, I think it's useful, important, valuable, and justified to talk about those allegations when they are true, or when they are supported by reasonable evidence. And calling it "mob justice" seems like it's really overstating the case.

So you are fine with people like Alex Jones saying that the Sandy Hook parents are crisis actors?

I don't think that those are true, or supported by reasonable evidence.

So, no.

You don't think...

Proved the anon you were replying to's point there. People are arrogant shitheads who think that their opinion counts as the long arm of the law.

No, murdering assholes who had already murdered people caused those deaths. You can shriek and wail about it being actually Reddit's fault all you want, but when you're talking about people who set off a bomb in a crowd of other humans, assuming they weren't going to try to murder their way out when they were caught no matter what is pretty naive.

And discussing the potential sexual misconduct of a D-list celebrity who's been infamous on the con circuit for years is one hell of a different beast than playing amateur sleuth over actual violent criminals anyway. You're comparing apples and ball bearings.
