I discovered Sometime Around Midnight by Airborne Toxic Event through an absolutely phenomenal Kara/Lee fanvid. It fits the ship stunningly well, especially given how masterful bop_radar's editing is, and it will probably be a Kara/Lee song to me forever.

I discovered Matches To Paper Dolls by Dessa (and Dessa as an artist) through an X-Files vid. Scully in this vid is painted a little rougher and sultrier than I generally think of her, and her relationship with Mulder is a little grittier, but astarte's editing is superb, and it works really, really well.

I discovered No One Would Riot For Less by Bright Eyes through an X-Files vid by frey_at_last. The editing is extremely simple in this one, but frey gets so much emotion into it. I will never be able to listen to this song without thinking about Mulder and Scully and everything they faced together.

My all time favorite Sherlock fanvid introduced me to Humming One Of Yours Songs by Ane Brun. It's a softer, lovelier song than you'd expect for a Johnlock vid, but I think it fit quite well back in S1. Then again, this is one of those songs that - if edited correctly - could fit three-quarters of ships out there. Greensilver does a tremendous job with this one.

I found Which Way Your Heart Will Go by Mason Jennings through another Johnlock fanvid. It fits the pairing because mresundance has a deft editing hand and finds a way to vid the song evocatively. It will definitely always be a Johnlock song to me.
