143. Ahahah. Well, I'm absolutely guilty of writing smut for the first pair. ~~And I am writing more.~~ BUT, I'm seriously one out of very few that even consider/like it. And if that stuff does disturb you for them, well, don't read it. :P I see no reason why I should be ashamed. ~~Even though I've had people judge me because of it already.~~

As for Mytho/Rue, the ironic thing is that so many people claim to like the pairing and yet almost none of them do fanworks for the pairing. I've done plenty at least in the artwork department for both pairings and although I'm ten times more into Fakir/Ahiru, sadly my works of Mytho/Rue are probably on par with the other amounts of stuff concerning the pairing in the fandom. So... why don't the hardcore Mytho/Rue fans start showing some of their love? I hear so many complaints about "Omg Fakir/Ahiru gets so much love blah blah" and yet they're expecting other people to stand up and give the other stuff to them.

TL;DR, if you want it, DO IT. That's what I did. Encourage more love with your own two hands. You'll be glad that you did. :D

If I did fanworks beyond icons, I would totally do Mytho/Rue, even though I (like the masses) am more into Fakir/Ahiru.

Well, even icons is a start. It's usually when people see the love that they start feeling more confidence to un-lurk. I do icons of both pairs, and individual characters and such. Hell, even my current LJ layout is one of my Mytho/Rue fanarts. But because most of my stuff is Fakir/Ahiru related in some way, it's immediately assumed that they're all I care about, even though I have done Mytho/Rue stuff.

Part of the reason I don't write Mytho/Rue is just because it didn't hit me as hard. I didn't like the dynamic as much as I liked Fakir and Ahiru's. That and I have trouble writing both Rue and Mytho individually, as well.

But so many people like to complain about the lack of Mytho/Rue, in particular, yet just don't do anything about it. And that really bugs me. Especially when they blame it on those of us that give "too much" love to Fakir/Ahiru. :/

I just need to get inspired to make Tutu icons. My main inspiration tends to be "I can't find icons I like!" and the Tutu fandom doesn't have that problem.

Fakir/Ahiru hits me a lot more. But on the other hand, if it hadn't ended with Rue happy, I think the anime would have fallen a lot on my eyes, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, that's a good point, lol. My inspiration for icons tends to come from the screenshots I take and I work from there. ~~I've made easily over a thousand PT icons by now.~~

I was really glad that Rue got her happy ending, too. She really did deserve it and I was happy for her and Mytho, both. Rue found the love she needed and Mytho found someone he wanted to love more than anything else.

Yeah, I'm not saying it doesn't exist. But with the amount of people I've heard/seen that want to see more of it, I can't understand why more doesn't exist. :/ I know fandoms generally have a lot of lurkers, but still.

Well, it's less that I want there to be Mytho/Rue smut(although I certainly wouldn't mind), than that I'm just very confused as to why a pairing with no overt sexual subtext whatsoever has smut(which several people find to be squicky), while the pairing that does vaguely imply some sexuality has none. It's like fandom got it backwards or something.

Well, to be honest, one of the things that provoked me into writing it was doujinshi. The Japanese fandom seems to get it backwards then too, I guess. Aside from that, personally, I can see it for Fakir and Ahiru down the road. I never write anything for any of that happening in series, but if the situation allows for it years later, I can definitely see it. I think the Fakir/Ahiru dynamic hits more sparks (and they're left with an ending that a lot of fans like to take further, plus their personalities really clash and can create a lot of tension between them), whereas with Mytho and Rue post-series, I don't see it much - they've reached their conclusion and they seem happy/content and off to fairytale land. But Evil!Mytho and Kraehe? That I can totally see. ~~And I think it would be hot.~~ Why there isn't any of that, I have no idea. Otherwise, in-series when Mytho is heartless, it'd be more like Rue raping him. :/

And if people do find Fakir/Ahiru smut squicky? Well, like I said, they don't have to read it. Generally people write or do what they want to. That's why there are things like crack!pairings involving characters that don't even interact in the series.

I know this conversation isn't directed at me, but...personally, I don't think it's fair to say that Mytho and Rue don't have a "spark" like Fakir and Ahiru do. I think they can. People have a bad habit of throwing out all of their characterization as a couple beyond, say, the last fifteen minutes of episode 26. They think "oh, they're a perfect fairy tale couple" and totally forget any flaws the couple has. And that really sort of bugs me.

Hence why I didn't say that. I said I think Fakir/Ahiru has more sparks. It's my opinion. Yes, I'm sure Mytho/Rue can have some fun with that Raven's blood infection. I'm not saying they have no potential. I'm saying I don't see it as much for them. Again, it's my opinion.

And while we're at it, since when is Mytho's world "perfect"? Drosselmeyer wrote it, not Disney.

I know it's just your opinion, but I see this a TON in the fandom and I think it directly contradicts the series to label Mytho and Rue as "perfect". Isn't the point of the show that they're all individuals? It doesn't make any sense to me!

I didn't say just, but the Raven's blood, personally, would be what I would see setting off their flaws and getting them involved in a situation like that. Not that it couldn't happen in a sweet manner. And I'm not saying they're not individuals. I didn't say Mytho's world was perfect, either.

People generally tend to come to a similar conclusion to that because of HOW Mytho/Rue ended. They resolved right there, they kissed, Rue turned into a Princess, and they flew off into the sky happily. Viewers are manipulable. It's easy to forget the little things when the 'happy ending' is shown like that. I don't really see Mytho and Rue as being labeled as 'perfect' much, either. Just that they're the only real canon couple in the series. And are shown happily dancing with each other at the end.

Maybe people are just boring with how they write pairings then, I don't know. I don't see their relationship as really being "resolved", heck Rue doesn't have the first idea about what Mytho's really like before they ride off into that sunset. Mytho might know Rue, but he's a complete stranger to her. She's too caught up in the moment to realize that when we see them in the end, but I don't think a "happy ending" means that everything's static and boring and dull. I'd say that Fakir and Ahiru's relationship is probably way, way more solid than Mytho and Rue's.

Well, you're coming up with these generalizations for meanings of a 'happy ending' on your own, so no comment on that. And I don't mean completely 'resolved' as in 'never having any problems or issues ever again', but Rue was finally loved by the person she loved, and Mytho had gone beyond his Princely status and loved someone more than anything else.

I think part of it is the fact that Mytho and Rue already went through a lot of crap during the series, so fans are actually glad to see them get a happy ending and some form of resolve with each other. Yes, there's a lot to go beyond that, and I'd fully welcome anyone to explore it. I've found a fic or two like that on FF.net and they were interesting.

Haha, I can't speak for all Mytho/Rue fans, but I like the couple partially because of angst potential (...because I'm me).

I saw both of their relationships pretty resolved by the end, mind you (by canon standards=. HOWEVER, Mytho and Rue as individuals have more potential to grow (not just pairing wise. I mean, Mytho JUST became a person. Can you imagine that? And Rue JUST figured out she can love and be loved! This doesn't cut in their relationship). This I say as more of a Fakiru fan than I am of Mytho/Rue (I love both couples to bits, but post series I consider Rue and Mytho far more fic-fodder but not in the romantic sense, more other relationships?).

The thing is, Rue and Mytho do have obstacles in their relationship post-series. Rue still has a whole pile of emotional issues due years of dealing with her father(and,y'know, loving someone who can't reciprocate), and Mytho has only recently obtained his ability to feel a whole range of human emotions. Not exactly the stuff of 'happily ever after's.

I understand that, but like I told someone above, the anime ending for them does make them look happy/content. And viewers are manipulable. The same way a lot of people's opinions of Fakir changed by Act 8 when they saw him smile, or in 10 when he cried, despite the complete asshole he was before then. The ending for Mytho/Rue looked like both finally found some happiness and love in each other, which was well deserved since they both suffered a lot DURING the series (particularly Rue). So I guess perhaps the fans of the pairing would just like to see them actually have some happy tiemz for a change.

I'm sure Mytho and Rue can have their own sparks due to all of the unbalanced issues they're bound to have post-series. I'm not saying they can't. Maybe it's just more difficult for me to wrap my head around, so I don't feel the inspiration to write it. I HAVE seen a few unhappy/problematic fics for them post-series, though. It'd take awhile to find them on ff.net, but some do exist.

I'm not saying they wouldn't be happy with each other(if anything, they're perfect for each other, what with Rue constantly needing love and Prince!Mytho constantly giving love), I'm saying they could be interesting, and I wish fanfic writers would explore that more. ~~And also write hot sex.~~
