168: To be fair, they are completely different. As he so famously said, the Joker was 'like a dog chasing cars'...he had no grand plan or objective. V, on the other hand, very definitely had a purpose for everything he did. He knew what he was ultimately trying to accomplish. Just sayin'.

169: Did you watch the episode at all? It is in fact possible to love someone without 'needing' or being dependent on them. Reinette continued to be brilliant and accomplished during the stretches of years wherein she didn't even see the Doctor. It's not like she sat back and wasted away without him. She died because she was ILL, not because she 'couldn't live without him.'
