169. Incorrect. She died at 43. That was 6 years after the Doctor left her. I don't at all see that it's unreasonable for the OP to assume that she waited for him all that time, based on the rather melancholy(mopey?) tone of her letter.

Er, she hadn't MET him before that. I don't necessarily agree with the OP, but the entire point of the character in that episode was to die so the Doctor could angst. And she was just not the type to fall, as she apparently did, for a guy she'd known for, what, three days? Maybe? Fail, Moffat, at using a great historical figure.

Oh, geez. TAKING IT SERIOUSLY ARE WE? Yes, actually, people tend to do that, you know. Read history, draw their own opinions from the facts laid forth. You're entitled to yours but stop acting like only her dearest best friend or mom can make assumptions about what she might have done.

Of course people can make assumptions about historical figures. What I'm asking is where you get off claiming that your assumptions are absolutely right and that Moffat's a horrible writer for getting it wrong on that basis.

...okay? It's my OPINION. This entire community is chock-full of opinions- brilliant, idiotic, well-informed, ignorant and otherwise. I do not think I need to preface my opinion that Moffat did a rubbish job with that one with WELL, it's only my opinion. OBVIOUSLY, just as it is (apparently) your opinion that he did a stand-up job.
