I have an idea for a romance but I've never written romance before and I'm not sure it's going to work. Trying to figure out where they each are in the self-discovery/acceptance of their sexuality process, how they figure out who they are, trying to make their individual stories different enough that it's not repetitive, then them developing feelings for each other and each coming to terms with it individually, then figuring out how to tell the other how they feel, not sure if their feelings are reciprocated, then eventually ending up in a relationship...it all seems way too confusing and complicated and daunting.

Maybe one should be out already, and it can focus just on the other coming to terms with things, but the "two dudes who aren't aware of their sexuality develop feelings for each other" thing just appeals to me on some level, as much of a cliche as it is. I don't know.

Are you the person who asked about the asexual romance idea? Glad to see you're tackling it! Honestly, if this is a genre you're not familiar with, it's not a bad idea to read a few and see how others handle it.

Haha I actually am that person, but this is a different story. In this one, one character is definitely gay and the other is possibly gay as well, but maybe bi.

I do plan on trying to do that one eventually but it's kind of on the backburner for now. I thought maybe I would try something less complicated first, although the more thought I put into this one, I'm not so sure it's less complicated!
