I'm really enjoying the fourth season so far actually. I know some others aren't, but I think it's been surprisingly smart in ways, lots of fun and correcting some (only some) of the problems of the third season.

I really agree with you about Karolsen, OP. I wish it was Kara/James and Monel was literally just Kara's mentee in the second season. The cringy forced "Karamel" stuff singlehandedly destroyed the quality of the show in a way I've never seen on any tv show before lol. There's rumors that Monel was a self-insert of one of the showrunners and I believe it

Using Mon-el to give Kara the chance to be a mentor (like both Oliver and Barry got to be) was a great idea. Using him to instead tear her down to his level episode after episode was awful to watch.
