Re: Buyer's agent?
(Anonymous) 2019-02-14 05:41 am (UTC)(link)* Don't go overboard and buy a giant house, even if you think you can afford it. Not if this is your first rodeo. Buy sensibly, and keep in mind that location is a major factor, not just the house itself.
* Keep in mind that there can be additional closing costs, inspections, etc. that you need to budget for, and even after you buy a house, budget for things to go wrong and need fixing. Maintaining a home requires a lot of equipment that first time home owners don't have. You'll be visiting Lowes and/or Home Depot a lot more than you think you will.
* Get a decent home inspector and don't skip the home inspection. You want someone who'll go up on the roof, investigate crawl spaces and attics, etc. and you'll want to be present when they do. You'll learn a lot about your potential home this way and it'll inform your decision on whether or not you want to go through with the purchase.
