I cannot STAND Hiccup's voice, enough that I can't ever make it through either of the movies.

Aw, I love Jay Baruchel.

"A DATE LIKE AN APPOINTMEEEEEEEEENT!!!"

Same. I was baffled why they picked such an obnoxious voice for him.

I thought I was the only one.

I was going to say 'But Kung Fu Panda tho' but tbh I find the sequels relatively same-y and not as good as the first, which is the greatest movie ever.

Music? Wha? It's no Lion King at all.

I like the films, but c'mon, that's a stretch.

The score is amazing, though. A movie doesn't need to have songs to have amazing music. In fact, I prefer the Lion King score to the songs. It is the score that makes that movie for me.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-15 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Well I mean, I agree. My point is The Lion King's music in general is phenomenal. And How to Train Your Dragon is nowhere near that level.

Honestly, (and maybe because TLK is in general a 'meh' film to me) no music really stands out to me except maybe Be Prepared.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-15 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
To each their own, but I'm curious what you thought was musically memorable from How to Train Your Dragon, lol. Because not a single track etched into my memory and I've watched it several times.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-15 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, honestly, I very VERY rarely notice/take note, or find music in any film memorable.

Except maybe POTC. The music was seriously epic.

NA

Well, I just checked my soundtrack favorites playlist, and I have See You Tomorrow, Test Drive, Battling The Green Death, and Romantic Flight from the first movie, and Flying With Mother, Stoick’s Ship, Toothless Found, and Hiccup The Chief/Drago’s Coming from the second movie.

I never got all the hype over these movies... Sure the first one was cute, but I couldn't stand the second, and I have literally no interest in watching the third.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-15 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
That's pretty much my experience as well.

Only thing I'm interested in revisiting are the scores, and even then the samples for the third soundtrack didn't grab me at all.

I’m actually more invested in the Netflix series now (set between the first and second movies) than the movies themselves. I’m not sure I even want to see the third movie to be honest.

I do love these movies. They're very fun to watch.

I. Love. These. Movies! I can't wait till next week!
