I just applied for a job at my dream company

They are a small organization but do exactly what I want to be doing. This position is totally relevant to my experience, too, and it would definitely be a step up the career ladder without being a total crapshoot - by the job description, I really do fit almost all of it.

But I applied for a job with them last year, got an interview, the executive director seemed to really like me and showed me around the office and stuff and went into so much detail I really thought I had it. But then they went with another candidate. I know it's life, but I'm a little embarrassed to apply again knowing I was rejected once. And since it's a small organization, everyone there will probably know me. Hell, the person they hired in the position I originally applied for will probably be told I applied for his position once.

But still. I would love this job. Not getting my hopes up, but just trying to work out anxiety after hitting that send button on the application!
