NAYRT—this, holy shit. I’m terrified of ever needing surgery because it’s that or die, but no one can tell me a boob job or facelift is nbd and then flip out that someone wants their uterus and ovaries removed. And I want kids but am extremely unlikely to ever be in a position to have them, but like fuck am I ever gonna aim my sadness about it at (current or former) childfree people.

Hell, I get enough shit for saying I’m not up for caring for kids by myself so I won’t have them, as though it’s more important that I have kids than that I be able to take good care of them. Why the fuck should people who don’t even want kids in the first place be pressured into having them? Their decisions to stay childfree aren’t hurting anyone, but if they had kids despite not wanting them it’d hurt them and their kids both.

Everything. All of this. It boggles my mind that decisions I make about my body re: sexing it up are FINE, but get rid of a uterus i'm /am never going to use? OMG NO ELECTIVE SURGERY OMG!!!!!

Fuck that noise.

I have had three major surgeries where I was anesthetized, and i had no issues or complications. I know me /= everyone, but unless you have an underlying issue that would complicate it, don't let that be a barrier to your good health.
