But after the end of BTVS, there are tons of Slayers. She could retire or train people.

I can honestly see Buffy living to die a natural death. Maybe on the early side, lkme 50s or 60s, but still.

There are lots of ending I found happy enough to be satisfying.

There are multiple fics I can think of where a prophecy or the PTB make her basically immortal.

There are more where the evil stays at a low level because she never died and then was never brought back to life which set off the whole evil that devours the world crap.

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but this is why I ship Buffy/Giles. I feel like he was the only one who really understood and appreciated the loneliness of her calling, and that she couldn't live the life her friends could. (despite trying to let her remain a normal teenager, unlike most watchers with their slayers)
