I dunno. Superheros are pretty damn ubiquitous in american comics, and they are people who beat people up for a hobby. If you were to look at superheroes as critically as people look at depictions women's bodies, you'd notice as troubling trend of "Might makes Right" which is it's not a great message.

And yet if anyone tried to sell me on the idea of there being some moral imperative to have less superhero comics, or to boycott superhero comics or complain about another superhero comic being released because "Look how pervasive it all is".

Well, I'd be very nice and polite about it, but I'd tell 'em to sod off.

I like the superhero comics. I like the spandex, which is fucking everywhere. I like the people with super human abilities acting like the moral arbiters for society in a fictionalised setting. SURE, I agree that if that's not your jam, you absolutely SHOULD have stuff for your tastes, but I'mma need you get that without shitting on, or trying to stop the creation of the things I like.
