I don't watch the show, what does he actually do?

I mean, I guess they did finally start tossing out convictions for that one Chicago cop who actually did frame a bunch of people. It took them like 30 years and they waited until he retired though.

No, he wouldn't lose his job.

I mean, I don't at all like his methods (intimidation, threats of violence, actual violence, trying to push through warrants without enough evidence/probable cause, bulling into situations against orders, etc.) or agree with them. But, in real life, where police get away with lying, perjury, framing people, cover-ups, injuring bystanders, and killing unarmed people, plus the fact that the NYPD disciplinary system is a joke, he wouldn't.

There are parts of the show where he actively makes it harder to get criminal tried, though. That would eventually be a problem big enough to get him fired, IMO.

I like Blue Bloods, but yeah, that character is a complete asshole.

Look, I've never watched the show so I have no idea what the character does, but you have way too much faith in IRL police departments. Waaayyyyy too much.

Blue Bloods is a fucking garbage show. The narrative of that Copaganda shitshow is that we are supposed to think that guy's right because, deep down, he ain't so bad. He's a fucking dirtbag and I know a bunch of real cops who are just like him. So, no, he wouldn't lose his job.
