Especially because of the more-than-likely bias of the Japanese author, since most of Japan's more monstrous acts in WWII were committed in this area 8| And Japan's portrayed like such a woobie/weepy uke in the fandom, and sfdghfhgshfg *can rant on about this for forever*

Well, practically every country is portrayed as a woobie, so I didn't notice a particular bias towards Japan.

But yeah, and I vote for fancharacters :/ Where are you from?

Hahah, yeah, that's true, but I do have a feeling that countries like the Phillipines and Singapore were left out because this is being published in Japan. So maybe portraying countries that Japan invaded would be a bit to sensitive, and Himaruya didn't even want to try? Eh, dunno. Bottom line is we need more Oceania-tans xD

I recall there's one about the China-Japan split, but I haven't seen anything about, say, Japan's invasion of Manchuria. Perhaps it's true. Himaruya may have been more free to address those themes when Hetalia was just a webcomic. Manga editors are a bitch :/
