(Anonymous) 2019-02-17 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)The script doesn't strike me as being all that strong, but fortunately the acting seems to be strong enough to compensate. Ellen Page, Robert Sheehan (the junkie), and Aidan Gallagher (the kid) really elevate whatever they're given, IMO, and the others don't seem weak, either (I just don't feel like I've seen enough of them yet to properly gauge it).

Mainly because I'm really, really impressed by Aidan Gallagher's ability to play an adult in a kid's body. Usually with stuff like that I wince and brace for disappointment, because it's almost never believable that the character is actually an adult. But so far I find Gallagher's performance really convincing.
