D: ack, dislocated kneecap sounds far too painful to be ridiculous - but I feel yah, as there's really no dignified way to tell people what happened. It's like... yes, I, a full-grown adult, have forgotten how to stairs. :/

And feel yah on the accident guilt - even when it's squarely the other person's responsibility, and even when no bad consequences happen, and no matter how hard you try to say "accident- no reason for guilt" these things haaaaaaaaaaunt you.

I'm just so careful backing up now because I'm so SURE there's going to be a car there lol

and with the kneecap thing, I was like 'yeah, I just......... fell'
it was embarrassing
