I left hard boiled eggs boiling... for 3+ hours. They exploded after I'd gone to bed. That was... a fun cleanup. Charred eggshell flew everywhere, including across the kitchen into the sink, up through the stove vents, and in the corners of the counter around my cook books and the side of the fridge. :( I'm just glad I didn't burn the house down. I live in a complex and have cats.
