Imo there's lots of nice anons that leave positive or neutral replies to a thread. Then every so often a jerk anon that starts a long argument chain replying to multiple other anons and it's pretty clearly the one person replying to everyone arguing. So if there's a thread of 100 comments, 9 are nice replies, 1 is a nasty one, and the 90 other comments are various people arguing with the nasty one... lol

I'm sure the same person could be a jerk one day about something then nice another day about another thing, but I find the ratio of *people* looks consistently in favor of 'people who are being nice that day, or at least started off being nice'. The ratio of comments on the other hand can swing all kinds of ways

Yeah. It's definitely true that people on this comm are willing to get into long and, uh, forthright arguments about stupid things with people who probably aren't arguing in good faith. And boy am I guilty of that. But it's not the same thing as being a jerk yourself.

Eh, it depends. I've been the anon everyone disagrees with a couple of times before and least one other person will back me up. It's easy to think only one person thinks differently from you when in reality, it's rarely the case.

Seconded. It's happened for me too.
