What's something that your family does

that most other families don't do?

Pray before eating. Didn't help I went to a religious school, but it blew my mind that no, most people don't pray before having breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

my parents do but they're very religious (I'm not, I'm an atheist) and they only do it at home, not anything really unusual like in a restaurant or something.

The ~yearly trips to England. All the family there is dead now, but some of Mom's friends are still kicking so she's still going, and she needs people to carry back a gajillion pounds of loose tea and blackcurrant jam.

I have gotten some shit in my life for kissing my parents on the lips when we greet. It's not like we're making out! It's just an affectionate peck, and we're affectionate people. ;_;

Sadly, I don’t think that’s nearly uncommon enough. Sorry, anon. It shouldn’t happen, not to you or to anyone else.

I was kind of hoping almost everyone else's families were like the Brady Bunch. *shrugs*

AYRT—my mom’s dad raped all three of his kids and his wife and spent his 70th birthday in jail for trying to “entrap” the paper delivery boy, and both my parents were addicts who died fairly young. I wish this kind of crap only happened in fiction.

Man, we got some dark shit with that in the family tree. The Irish side of the family was not kind back in the day.

I wish that were a rare thing! I wish it was something no one had to endure.

My mom (my dad's first wife) is still invited to a lot of events on my dad's side of the family. Fortunately both she and my stepmom are capable of at least acting like mature adults.
