I've never had a sweet strawberry. I am beginning to think they are a myth.

I WILL HOOK YOU UP. My geriatric strawberry patch gives very sweet strawberries if I can get to a) before the birds take chunks out of them and b) before they rot

Impossible! But for real, even the ones people say are sweet don't taste that way to me.

Oh same!! They always taste too tart, bordering on sour to me. They have to be like... dead-of-summer peak, perfectly ripe, *and* covered in chocolate or mixed up in a syrup for me to find them sweet.

Ha! Yeah, I feel that. Store bought ones are always underripe and watery or sour. Occasionally you get a semi-sweet one but honestly, it's not really that good. The only truly sweet strawberries I've ever had were picked on a farm somewhere in Washington. They were truly ripe, not picked prematurely and shipped elsewhere.
