I mean... it's nice they were honest, but that would annoy me a little. It seems rude to offer like that when it's not really an offer, it's trying to get something out of you.

They were only semi serious, though I think they would have done it if I took them up on it. None of them were really expecting anything to happen, which took the pressure off.

Eghhh. I don't really like it when people are trying it on. You know... "joking" about something because if they call it a joke, they don't have to be responsible for the fact that it's a presumptuous, self-interested request. It lets people make a play for something with a thin veneer of facetiousness as plausible deniability. Oh, you mad? They weren't serious, haha!

And it works, because you bought it.
