That full ride to pharm school I didn’t take.

If it helps, the pharmacy school is brutal and the job market is not as good as it used to be. The majority of jobs are in retail and the majority of retail jobs are big chains, which suck to work for.

Maybe? I'd've been in the industry a good decade now, even taking a grad school program into account, so I might've gotten in at a good time.

No doubt that accounting is less stressful though. The reason I didn't go in pharm the first place is that you screw up with medicine and people suffer. I screw up with accounting, and I make a journal entry and a phone call.

Yeah, you might've been OK, in terms of getting a job. It's pretty good money, but really stressful. Not just for the risk if you make a mistake, but because the circumstances of most jobs make it more likely you'll make a mistake:understaffing, shitty management, the pressure for speed at the expense of accuracy, etc.

I don't know if there was anything I could have done differently per say, but every case I participated in where we lost. It keeps me up at night because it is people's lives. And some of them I'm pretty sure are going to be killed when they get sent back, and that absolutely keeps me up at night.

For actual regrets, every mistake I've ever made. I'm the type of person who obsesses. I obsess about things I did as a kid. I've got coping mechanisms now, but whenever I don't use them at night, my brain instinctively goes to regrets.

I think very few people are going to say online what the worst thing they ever did was. I'm sure not going to volunteer that information about myself.

Not something I did, but something I didn't do. There was an annual event near me and some of my online friends went and met up. I didn't go. I regretted it instantly. So much that it physically hurt. Almost a year passed and it still bothered me a lot more than something so petty really should, but I'd been holding on to the knowledge that the event was happening again and my friends were planning to attend, and I was increasingly looking forward to going myself, and being with them this time. And then I think I would have had no more regrets about it.

One of those friends just died.

Not going to therapy for my depression/anxiety sooner. It got worse over the years (as those things do) and well, it was my years in university where I practically didn't do anything but also didn't have the power to leave (+ the anxiety about what my parents/the world would say)... so basically I'm "good" now for the most part, but also stuck in a retail job at a supermarket I loathe for various reasons. I'm 30 now and feel like my life is basically already over.

I'm 31, with a shitty job, very little upward mobility, and not much else going on. I can definitely relate, anon. I know it helps very, very little, but you're not alone in feeling this way.

Thank you!

I keep telling myself that at least I have a job? Idk I feel like while people do look down on me for the job I'm working, they in general look down on people without a job more? Idk it that makes sense.

Not going to university, and not taking that summer job as a receptionist that was offered to me.

Man, picking just one as “the worst” would actually take all night, or maybe longer, so I’ll go with the fact that I took a day off work to go to a Terry Pratchett book signing when he was in the US promoting his new book, but I was too afraid I’d get lost on public transit so I sat at home thinking “next time I’ll print out directions” (this was pre smartphone.) And then he died a few years later.

This guy asked me out and I rejected him in a very mean way. I wasn't deliberately trying to be mean but I was just not thinking right or something. I didn't realize how awful I'd been until it was too late to apologize. I don't regret not dating the guy but I very much regret not being decent about it.

During my high school graduation, we each had a short little thank you that was read out as we got our diploma. I thanked my dad, and one of my English teachers. I deliberately didn't thank my mom or her SO. I regretted it immediately (and lied afterwards and told her I'd accidentally gave them the wrong copy of my thank yous).

A part of me will always be angry with my mother, but she she didn't deserve that. She wasn't horrible.

Not being able to find the right combination of self care and medication every stinking allergy season.
I had to miss work today because I didn't sleep a wink last night. My nostrils hate me.
