You're 70 years old?

I suppose OP means that households having computers were pretty rare, so the internet didn't really 'exist' for them.

We didn't get a computer till I was 10 years old or so and then my parents were strict with it. I was allowed 1 hour of internet time a day (and not even every day).

I know what OP meant.

Then your question was unnecessary.

Almost nobody had access to the internet until some time in the early-mid 90s and you know it.

You're shitting me. Down the bowl and through the plumbing.

Access to the internet in 1990 when I first got it (as a computer science graduate student) cost our department $16,000 a month for a T1.

You must believe that when I was a child, the internet existed, but children did not have access to it. (I'm 50, not 70)

Yahoo Chat Rooms and the DragonballZ website. As a pre-teen/teenager, I spent a lot of time on the Television Without Pity and Fox Shows forums.

Does anyone else here have any fond pre-teen/teen memories of gURL.com and gURLmAIL?

This image is hitting me with such extreme nostalgia it almost hurts.

Gaia Online was hilarious to hang around on when I was a kid. There were a few other social/fan sites that don't exist anymore and can't remember the names of.

I wasted so much of my time on Gaia when I was younger. Good times.

DBZ Uncensored. (If you're unfamiliar, it's not what you think. It was a website that noted everything cut from the original version for the dub.) Also, the site "The Manga of Takeuchi Naoko."

Oh! And Rumic World had a hopping forum. The above two were mostly informational, but uh, I hung out on them a lot. :)

I'm... about to show my age, but I used to connect to BBSs all the time as a kid. A lot of them had some simple games that I really loved.

Once I got AOL, I spent most of my time on RhyDin chatrooms, or Federation. I got into SFOL later on but transferred over to USF because they were a little more flexible.

*high five* I spent a lot of time on alt.fan.sailor-moon and mailing lists like one for Slayers RP. We briefly had some other ISP besides AOL but I don't remember much about them because I was so young. But I remember using Netscape and reading The Internet for Dummies to figure stuff out. I miss all the file trading that was around so easy back then.

Didn't have it as a kid, did, however, have an Apple IIe and Oregon Trail.

And Lemonade Stand, Pinball Construction Set , Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, Number Munchers, Word Munchers, Odell Lake, World Games, Breakout, and various other games (a lot of which you can get here -https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_apple). If I had wanted to talk to someone while I was on the computer, well, the cord connecting our phone handset to the base was very long, but not quite long enough to reach over to the computer.
