I haven't watched any TXF in ages. I miss Mulder and Scully. Especially Scully. Mostly Scully. Lol.

Are you watching in order, or just cherry-picking episodes?

Definitely cherry picking - sort of went through the third and fourth seasons and now in doubling back to S1. S1 is so great there's so many silly terrible episodes and they're so young

FLUFFY BABIES! That's literally all my brain is capable of thinking whenever I go back and watch S1. Scully's baaad suits! Mulder's forelock! The horrible CGI! The episode that couldn't be more of a blatant ripoff of The Thing if it tried (but was also a really good episode)! The green bugs in the woods! Tooms! That hair Scully had in the pilot and then never again! Mulder's ex Phoebe! Them being fluffy innocent babies who didn't know what they were getting into! The spiders-on-a-piano soundtrack quirk that was used like twenty times! (Yeah I fucking love S1 to distraction.)

S3 and S4 are great seasons to cherry-pick from, though. I feel like they were kind of the show at its best (and most quintessential). And I liked S5, too, myself.

I think what I love most about s1 is that even the bad episodes, it's usually, like, the first time that they've tried making an episode like that so it feels fresh and different.

I do like S5 a lot and it has some episodes I love but it also has some real unwatchable stinkers. When it's good it's good, but when it's bad it's really bad. Not so many in-between episodes.

That was the killer trees, right? I think the ambiance of M&S walking through hazelnut groves made me hate that one ever so slightly less than it deserved. But yeah, killer trees were...not the best idea they ever greenlit for an episode, lol.
