pokemon sword and shield

I am a ball of rage that Nintendo is moving on to switch with the new pokemon games. I mean, I get that they have spent a good while on the 3ds but I also feel like the whole sun/moon package did not have as long a journey or as many things to do as previous games. Now we get hit with this.

I just, don't have the cash to go around buying a whole system for pokemon. But I really wanna play the new games. I still wish I had been able to play ruby and sapphire and I'm butthurt I will miss out again lol.

Anyone butthurt with me? Anyone looking forward to the games? What starter would you pick?

I always do play through 1 with the fire pokemon no matter what it is. When in doubt, burn everything down :P

I mean, it's the newest system, so it makes sense to me

I'm actually thrilled it's on console, we've been wanting a console version since like N64!

But it will, I admit, feel a bit like a one-time gimmick. Pokemon should be handheld, ultimately. It's a journey you take with you, I guess because it has such a long potential play-time with collecting, training, battling, whatever - not to mention trading with your friends, which gave it a social element. With the internet, I guess that's pretty dated, though.

I think I like the water starter? The grass starter is cute but I don't really like monkeys so I feel like its evolutions will annoy me. The bunny is meh.

The 3DS came out in 2011. It's outdated as all hell.

Yeah, I was gonna say, isn't it almost ten years old by now? It's had a good run but it's reaching the end of its era.

I get how you’re feeling, but unfortunately tech advances and the 3DS is basically done at this point. Having to buy the new console to play something is just the nature of the beast when it comes to gaming, sadly.

I'm with you. I've played every main pokemon game up til now and always liked that it was exclusively handheld, but there doesn't seem to be any new handled devices coming out that pokémon could be played on. Just the switch. :\
