(Anonymous) 2019-03-02 07:50 am (UTC)(link)It's honestly a good thing their most attractive seasons didn't occur simultaneously; I don't think I could've handled it without combusting.
That said, I think there are a lot more factors than just looks that make them as attractive as they are. They're brainy, and they're professional, and in a weird way they're kind of staid and sexually conservative - which for some people has the effect of making their attractiveness infinitely more compelling.
The show cast two attractive people as it's leads and then proceeded to focus entirely on their professional behaviors, their qualifications, their beliefs, their intellectual opinions and ideas, their scientific curiosity, etc. It was not a sexy show, and it didn't treat its leads like sexy leads, even though they were. Which, like some kind of potent reverse psychology, made them incredibly attractive.
