104. Welcome to the internet. I would take your opinion more to heart if I haven't met a number of rape victims who both read and write the type of rape fic you're talking about, because it helps them deal with the experience. Not my cup of tea, either, but what do you have say to them?

Some rape victims read/write rapefic and some don't.

Why is it that the ones who read and write rapefic have a reaction that's more valid than the ones who are repulsed by it?

Missing the point, you are.

I'm not saying that the OP's response is invalid. It's emotional and irrational and doesn't have to be justified. But, by that same token, it's no more valid than the reaction of other victims. And, this is the internet; if the OP doesn't want to be exposed to that kind of thing, she doesn't have to be.

Well, it's kind of disturbing to wish rape on anyone, regardless of how emotional or irrational the desire is. That's what got me riled up, more than anything.

Not the OP, but it depends on what kind of rapefic they write. If they write it as the truly brutal act that it is, and use it to let out their feelings on the subject and get it out of their system, I'd say that's fine. If they write it as something sexual that the victim enjoys, I'd say that I feel sorry for them for how truly fucked up the rape has made them, and that they need therapy.

First off, I'm not talking about fic people read and write as therapy. And second, everyone deals with it differently, I'm well aware of that. The people I have a problem with are the ones who are not rape survivors and get all butthurt if a rape survivor expresses discomfort with non-con fics.
