130 Another character designer was in charge of drawing the women's figures specifically (I'm not fucking kidding). I forget his name but he worked on GaoGaiGar as well as Godannar I believe, which are both shows that have similiar looking female uh, "anatomies". If it was up to CLAMP they'd have no breasts whatsoever, which I think is worse, actually. I hate it when women look like little fucking girls in anime. It's idiotic considering that, for Western women at least (not sure about in Asia) the average cup size is C.
145 I guess we can add that Tezuka manga to the long list of things that GAINAX er, "paid homage to" in Gurren Lagaan.

I liked Gurren Lagaan, I just wish people realized it was an amalgamation of things from different series. GAINAX has always done this, not just with Gurren Lagaan. That's sort of their trademark.

The average size for women in Asia is somewhere between an A and a B cup. B is pushing it. Thank you for reminding us. We appreciate it.

I didn't mean to come off as mean to those with smaller cup sizes, actually, considering all the men I know, you should be thankful because smaller breasts and thinner women are more desirable these days than more Rubenesque women like myself.

Clamp has some pretty normal breast sizes for characters of their body types. Also, I'm a Western woman and barely have an A cup, and I find smaller breasts more attractive anyway, for the most part. Huge, huge anime boobs on skinny-as-a-rail anime women looks really unnatural no matter where you're from, methinks. O_o

Have to say though, yeah, you're right on the money by that not being Clamp beyond initial character designs, though the fact that someone not Clamp also helped design the female characters is a new one to me. That's weird, but kind of cool that it's a huge group effort.
