Someone wouldn't be leaving countless well written comments on your fic for years just to be polite. They definitely admire you and would probably be ecstatic if you reached out. Go for it, OP.

big mood tbh

That's lovely OP.
I had a commentor who also always commented on my fics. We would have conversations throughout the comments section. I would also look forward to the particular person's comment.
I took some time off from writing, but then I wrote another fic and they stopped commenting. They haven't commented on other fics since. I do miss them :(

I get liking commentators. There are a few I hope to see in my inbox but it sounds like you are a bit overly focused on it all. At the end of the day it is just fanfic and this person is just taking a bit of their day to make a comment. Whether they continue to do or don't should not make or break your day nonny.

Yeah, I agree. The "can't settle and be content" strikes me as not particularly healthy. It's one thing to be thrilled by a particular commenter and look forward to their comments, but not if it interferes with your ability to continue on with your day, as this suggests.

Seconding the Maybe Step Back camp, since it doesn't seem entirely healthy to have so much of your emotional wellbeing riding on whether a specific commenter leaves reviews on your fic; it's important to take care of your own emotional wellbeing.

That having been said, I once did a chaptered fic that attracted a commenter I found incredibly entertaining, and said commenter didn't comment on the final chapter for like, a month after it was posted, and I wondered way too many times during that month if I'd disappointed the commenter. So I get it. I do. But I feel like you gotta step back a little. Maybe post fic under a different name to give yourself some space. Something.
