Personally, I have no problem with someone stating in their tags or author's notes that they only write the characters relationships as platonic. For one, it helps shippers decide whether to read your fic or not. And for two, it undoubtedly gets tiresome for non-shippers to constantly get comments where people are doing their damnedest to interpret the fic as shippy, and leaving comments like, "Oh, the UST between X and Y is killing me! Please write a sequel where they get together!"

OTOH, if the tone is, "I've written the relationships as platonic and I decree that readers must remove their shipper goggles before they are allowed to read my fic" that's pretty ridiculous, yeah.

And telling people not to read your fic, as though you can just forbid people from doing something they're completely free to do, is douchey af.

I have seen people with notes saying "if you liked that disgusting fic in this fandom don't dare interact me at all" and jfc.

So? People have a right to decide who they want to interact with, don't they?
