Asian inspired cultures...silk punk! Actually, even European would be fine if they weren't so generic. Most fantasy is basically medieval English in slightly different geographic settings and food. How about Romanian inspired? Greek? Scandinavian?

I love the idea of silkpunk but none of the English books out seem interesting / were disappointing to read imo, which is too bad.
