I just assumed that the clothes under the jacket were sleeveless, or even just a dickie (like what Howard wears on Big Bang Theory, so it's just a pretend piece of clothing) so that mostly what the actor was wearing was the body suit and the jacket, with just enough under the jacket to look like he was fully dressed. And that would also mean no one had to try and pull all those clothes on and off over the body suit, just, like, fasten it around his neck, attach it to his pants or around his waist so it looks like clothes, and go. It was probably still really, really uncomfortable, but not as bad as being fully dressed on top of the gorilla torso suit.
