agreed, 8 was a neat fun movie, but that's all. there was no impact, no "oh shit!" when you thought things went wrong but actually they went exactly as planned (though i'm very grateful that they kept it fairly simple, god am i over the weird shit they did for the sake of twists in the other sequels).

the characters were the absolute highlight, rarely have i crushed harder. cate blanchett, yes, but also anne hathaway absolutely murdering me not only with her looks but also those amazing mannerisms. i felt so supremely gay watching this

Cate always gets me, but I found myself attracted to actresses I wouldn't normally be into. Everyone was kind of hot in this movie.

I don't know, do we really need a third Ocean's 11? Ocean's 8 at least had some surprises.

I loved everything about Ocean's 8. Yes, the cast were amazing, especially Cate Blanchett. But I liked the plot too.

I really enjoyed it too. I didn't find it bland or boring at all.

Plus, everyone was hot as fuck.

Yes, yes they were. Even people like Sandra Bullock who I never find hot in other things.

Haha, aw, I love Sandra. Ever since Speed.

Oh I like her as an actress. Just never been attracted to her except in Oceans 8.

I see what you're saying about the heist part, but I don't entirely agree overall.

While I liked Ocean's 11 enough when I first saw it, rewatching 11 after 8 made me realize how much of it is about the two men trying to control the Julia Robert's character. That's far less palatable on rewatch.

8, on the other hand, I've watched at least a dozen times since I bought it, and I love it endlessly.

Same. I loved 11 at first, but after watching CinemaSins rip it apart for all the stuff involving Julia's character, I'm severely less enthused about it, whereas I super enjoy 8 every time I rewatch. And not just for the eye candy.

Seriously, is Sandra Bullock ever going to age?

ha, she did look... extremely smooth in a lot of her scenes.

I haven't come across the critique you mentioned, but... I usually like Clooney, but even he creeped me out.

(As for 12, I tried to watch it after rewatching 11, and was just so BORED. The only good part was the (post credits?) scene with the thief acro-dancing around the lasers, and half of that was the music.)
