I just don't like him. He comes across as really smug all the time and it's an impression I can't shake no matter who he's playing. The fact he played a couple total assholes before Sam Wilson must have done it.

I... can't see it at all. He's so... soft seeming. Maybe not the word I'm looking for, but the two guys who played Kovacs in season one were hard angles and danger.

It is very common in sci fi - voltron hunks name is Tsuyoshi and overwatch roadhogs name is Mako.

My first reaction - An Altered Carbon secret, awesome!

My second reaction - yeah totally agree.

While the the whole underlying moral of AC is that the body isn't necessarily a representation of the person (thinking about abuella's visit on the DotD), I do have doubts that Mackie can really get across the essence of Kovacs. It's really going to be a test of his acting abilities.
