108. Hahahaha you have either been only reading crap or honestly can't distinguish between good smut and absolute crap. Believe me, bb, it does take talent. Plus, the best sex scenes incorperate good character voice, quite possibly character development, and actually advance a plot of sorts, and can be incorperated into longer works as just a piece of the entire creation. :>

And true, that is not true of Gumshoe/Maggie, which is totally freaking adorable. But not everyone loves only pairings that are 100% canon, and fanfiction is the place to explore possibilities that are... you know. Outside of the original canon. So.
(Also, if you honestly think that career-oriented people can't fall in love, or have any sort of relationship with another human being, you're being a little bit silly, aren't you? O_o)
