(Anonymous) 2008-09-14 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)But I personally don't agree with voting based on party affiliation. So when my preferred candidate dropped from the race ( Bill Richardson. I truly think he would do great things for our country and I hope he runs again in the future. ) I wasn't just going to go "Yay, Democrats." and vote for whoever that party selected to be on the ticket. Sure, people within one party tend to share similar stances on issues. . .they aren't the same! When you really do the research, you can find two dems or republicans that vary quite a bit from each other.
Between Obama and McCain. . .I keep going back and forth. I've gone back and forth so many times, I realized. . .that either candidate? I can't fully support. While there are things I like about both candidates, there are a lot of things I don't like at the same time. I know, no candidate is going to be "perfect" in that agreeing with you 100%. ( Except maybe with issues they try to be wishy-washy over ) But between the two, for me, the positives and negatives are about equal.
I can't decide. And unless one of the candidates really impresses me or gives me a solid reason to vote for them. . .I am not casting a vote for the presidential seat. How can I? I do take it seriously and that's why I've struggled with trying to decide who to vote for this whole time.
My secret was really to bring attention to how there are a lot of people who aren't taking it seriously. Feeding off of lies and dirty tricks that both parties are dishing out. When I try to have conversations with people about this, about my "problem" you could say, I just get slapped up with more of the MSM stuff that. . .is just dirty politics and sensationalized news.
