NAYRT

Well that didn't really happen to the Tolkien fandom when the movies came along, in the sense that the segment of fandom that thrives on the written works continues to exist and proliferate in tandem with the new blood. The Harry Potter books didn't lose status among fans due to the movies' popularity. And those fandoms' source materials are extensive and time-consuming to get through.

Good Omens is just one book. I'm sure new fans who are at all inclined to read -- and even some who aren't -- will be able to pick it up no problem.
