Brienne doesn't count, sadly. She might have been initially, but she gets PoV chapters in later books. She's fully a main character.

For real, I tried to read them and hated them.

The only reason I actually got through them was I had the first few as audiobooks and the first one killed the better part of a 5 day cross-country road trip.

Then I was like "well I guess I'm committed now". But yeah, they're not all that great after a point.
