Ehh, I don't feel like two women in similar situations have to personally like each other, so long as they treat each respectfully. If it makes you feel any better, though, tabloids tend to play these feuds up, so they're probably just making a mountain out of a mole hill.

The tabloids are gunning for the Duchess of Sussex (gosh, I wonder why that might be?), so I'm basically very sceptical about anything they say about her, and obviously creating a feud makes for a good story that can serve the Meghan-bashing, so....

They should renounce their titles

(Anonymous) 2019-03-13 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
the entire monarchy should renounce their titles tbh, no reason to just single out these ladies

(Anonymous) 2019-03-13 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree that they should. I'm only singling out these ladies because that's who the secret is about.

I thought this said renounce their titties and you were shitposting something about women?? 😌😁

Never believe the tabloids! Last week I saw one cover that said "KATE CROWNED QUEEN, MEGHAN OUTRAGED" which just tells you the level of reality they're aiming for.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-13 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. Shouldn't it have been "Elizabeth Outraged"? I mean, I feel like she has the better case for outrage, seeing as it's her job and not Meghan's.

It'll stop when Meghan and Harry's baby is born and the tabloids have got something else to sell papers with. At the moment there's just not enough royal news so they're making it up.

I'm already waiting for the "It's been two hours since she gave birth! Why isn't she outside in full makeup and smiling for the press? What a slacker!" headlines.

I will never understand the fascination. I have no opinion on them both as people (as I have no illusions that I know all that much about them), but their lives are full of the most boring shit ever. Tabloids have to make stuff up to have something to put on the cover, so it's always safe to assume that whatever headline you see, it's bullshit. (I mean, "Kate went out in a respecatble outfit to be photogenic and bland" or "Meghan shook hands with random British person during a random meet-and-greet event promoting someting" aren't really thrilling pieces of news - they almost have to get creative)

If it were a plot in a movie, I'd be exasperated, but since it's real life, people's feelings are often messy and inconvenient. Having said that, I suspect their 'feud' is mostly manufactured tabloid fodder.

I always find it vaguely amusing that people are convinced if they're not BFFs, they must secretly hate each other. They're married to brothers, and they..."work" together, I guess. Neither of these things require them to be particularly close, just civil. This secret is refreshing because it's recognizing that "allies" is good enough.
