Like, I think gifs I see from the show are funny, or I'll see content made by the contestants outside of the show and think they're cool, but the few times I tried to actually watch and I just found it boring

This is how I feel too. It seems like something I'd like. And the gifs and the comments I see about it make it seem fun. But I've tried to watch a few times and got bored.

You're not really missing out at this point, OP.

It's been on a downward spiral since season 7, with the exception of AS2, and I don't think it's really going to get any better. Go back and watch seasons 3-7 if you want to understand why it's so loved. Everything after that has just steadily gotten worse.

I mean, look, I still like it and I'm tentatively optimistic that S11 might not be a trash fire, but I don't really expect much from it anymore.

we're not even watching season 11, after being die hards for so long. AS4 was such a shitshow and I'm at the point where if RuPaul wants to promote young, up-and-coming queens, she can do it without a reality competition.

I haven't watched all the seasons, but there are a few I watch over and over again. I just love RuPaul and drag in general. I don't think it says anything about you as a person if you don't.

I watched All Stars Season 2 for the first time despite being surrounded by friends who enjoy the show immensely. I was kind of lost but I enjoyed the camaraderie and shade.

If I catch a new episode, I'll watch it half-heartedly, but it feels like it has all the potential to be same-y week after week.

I have to be honest, I got turned off of this show a lot after that whole Desmond is Amazing shit went down. There were just too many rabid stans of that show defending that bullshit. Not the show's fault, I know, but the association stuck.

from what I hear of the fandom on social media, you're honestly better off just idly enjoying the episodes and not getting "into" it. the racism, transphobia, and fatshaming is out of control.

but after seeing some of the queens on tour live a couple weeks ago I'm also starting to wonder if this model of drag is starting to get passe.

I sometimes watch youtube compilations of the competitions for this show but it's not something I'm particularly into, I just don't really care for reality TV and can only really take a certain amount of it at a time before I'm done with it.

It seems fun enough though for people that do enjoy that media-type.

I watched the first and second seasons and that was it; I was pretty sick of it after that.

Season One had this great positive educational vibe. Season Two did too and then after that. It went down hill to catty and shady very quickly. It stopped being all "we support each other" to "I hate you and you and you." And I stopped caring.

I love stuff where people support each other, not rip each other to shreds. Sure, we can compete, but we shouldn't have to tear each other down for "drama" to make it interesting. That's why I won't go on fashion design competitions no matter how many people say "you should do it." Nope. Not there for the fake drama.

Have friends who love the show! Just don't get it myself. Though I go further to find the show actively irritating
