Not to swing a bat at a hornet's nest, but isn't Dean supposed to be the not too bright one of the bunch? Like, he might not know what being an Aquarius means

Dean is smart, I think. He's not as book-loving as Sam is. But he learns quickly and does seem pretty smart to me. He puts on an act that can read dumb. But I don't think he actually is.

Canonically, he has quoted Vonnegut and other writers whose works are not movies. While Sam always looks surprised that Dean reads, the show has many instances that prove that Dean is very smart.

He totally is. That's pretty much Dean's m.o. whenever the cops catch him. The scene also makes it clear that Dean is joking so I don't quite understand the secret maker's problem.

he's smart, he's just the street smart half of the duo with sam being the book smart half. though he is clearly well read with the references he makes and handy with mechanical stuff too.
