Emma Bunton apparently said both were boys, according to this article http://colourlessopinions.com/2012/07/meaning-of-spice-girls-viva-forever.html

I also found this article about it (https://crackmagazine.net/article/long-reads/the-untold-story-of-the-lynchian-video-for-the-spice-girls-viva-forever/) and the director doesn't contradict the writer when she calls the child a boy.
